SentienceAPI Terms of Service

Last Updated: December 23, 2025

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Sentience's hosted services, APIs, and website (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Overview

SentienceAPI provides tools for building reliable, execution-oriented AI web agents. This includes:

hosted APIs (e.g. snapshot processing, semantic geometry refinement),

developer tooling and dashboards,

and an open-source SDK licensed separately under the Elastic License 2.0.

These Terms apply only to Sentience's hosted services and website. The SDK is governed by its own license.

2. Accounts and Access

You may need to create an account or obtain an API key to access certain Services.

You are responsible for:

maintaining the security of your credentials,

all activity performed using your account or API keys,

ensuring your use complies with these Terms and applicable laws.

We may suspend or revoke access if we reasonably believe your use violates these Terms or creates risk to the Services.

3. Use of the Services

Permitted Use

You may use the Services solely to:

build, test, and operate AI-driven automation and agent workflows,

process web UI state and semantic geometry for your own applications.

Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

offer the Services (or substantially similar functionality) as a hosted or managed service to third parties without permission,

reverse engineer, replicate, or attempt to extract proprietary logic from the Services,

bypass rate limits, credit accounting, or usage controls,

use the Services for unlawful, abusive, or harmful activity.

4. SDK License

The Sentience SDK is licensed under the Elastic License 2.0 (ELv2).

Use of the SDK is governed only by that license. Nothing in these Terms grants you additional rights to the SDK.

Use of the SDK may involve calls to Sentience's hosted Services, which remain subject to these Terms.

5. Credits, Billing, and Usage

Certain Services consume credits.

Credits represent units of execution-ready web perception (e.g. snapshot processing).

Credit pricing, limits, and expiration (if any) are described on the pricing page or dashboard.

Credits are consumed when a request is successfully processed by the Service.

Credits are non-transferable and non-refundable, except where required by law.

We may modify pricing or credit models with reasonable notice.

6. Service Availability and Changes

The Services are provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis.

We may:

modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Services,

introduce new features or limits,

deprecate legacy endpoints.

We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes, but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

7. Data and Privacy

You retain ownership of data you submit to the Services.

By using the Services, you grant Sentience a limited right to:

process requests,

generate responses,

operate, maintain, and improve the Services.

We do not claim ownership of your content. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the Services (excluding the SDK) remain with Sentience.

This includes:

proprietary algorithms,

semantic geometry processing,

ranking, scoring, and execution logic,

service design and presentation.

No rights are granted except as expressly stated.

9. Acceptable Use and Restrictions

You may not use the Services to:

violate laws or third-party rights,

interfere with or degrade the Services,

scrape or harvest data at scale outside intended use,

misrepresent the Services as your own offering.

We reserve the right to investigate and take action for violations.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access:

for violations of these Terms,

for non-payment,

to protect the integrity or security of the Services.

Upon termination, unused credits may be forfeited unless otherwise required by law.

11. Disclaimers

The Services are provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

We do not guarantee:

specific outcomes,

uninterrupted operation,

compatibility with all websites or environments.

Use of the Services is at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Sentience is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages,

total liability is limited to the amount paid by you for the Services in the preceding 12 months.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
